Jodie Goddard

Psychotherapist

Jodie is an open-minded, compassionate, and inclusive therapist. She completed her Master’s degree in Counselling at QUT, graduating with distinction. She understands the courage it takes to seek counselling, to work through life’s difficulties, such as: crisis, significant life transitions, or trauma. Jodie believes that these challenges can be worked through relationally. She aims to create a space that is safe, and receptive to your needs and pace. She is trained in evidence-based approaches including attachment and relationship therapy, experiential work, solution-focused therapy, family therapy, group, and supervision work. She is also trained in narrative therapy and grief counselling. Her therapeutic approach facilitates helpful skills and strategies, whilst uncovering and attending to your deeper inner experience, attachment history and needs.

Jodie’s has extensive professional experience working across human services: in aged care, disability, and mental health practice for the last ten years. She has run large community relief and mental health programs, supported clients through case management and coordination on NDIS. Her experience in these areas drives her passion to support clients facing challenges due to complex, stigmatising social systems and dominant societal beliefs. She assists individuals, couples, and families to make meaning of their lives, reclaim their unique story and sustain fulfilling relationships.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is Jodie’s primary therapeutic approach, and it is considered the gold standard therapy for relationships. She has completed advanced training in EFT and her passion is working systemically. Jodie embraces all relationship types, LGBTQIA+, sexualities, genders, family constructs, cultures, and neurotypes. Currently, she is completing her educational standards to become a Certified ADHD Professional in psychotherapy.
