Biography

Shanling is a registered psychologist who holds a Masters Degree of Educational and Developmental Psychology.  Shanling has experience in working with children and young adults experiencing anxiety, school refusal, emotional regulation difficulties and those who struggle with developing social skills. Shanling also works closely with parents to understand their children’s behaviour, emotional needs and to improve their relationship.

 

In the local community, Shanling works in a multi-disciplinary team to support indigenous families with significant trauma history and children with severe behavioural difficulties and developmental delays.

Shanling’s approach is strongly influenced by attachment and trauma theories, and she is also a registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator and Parents Under Pressure therapist. Shanling is specialised in conducting formal assessments relating to learning difficulties, developmental delays (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder) and attentional/concentration difficulties.

As a former international student and new migrant, Shanling aims to utilise her skills to support more families and individuals with Cultural and Linguistic Diverse background.
