Hi, I’m Hayley. I am a registered Psychologist, with a Master’s degree in Health Psychology. I am passionate about mental health and the interconnected relationship between our physical health and psychological well-being. I am a respectful, warm and caring person. I believe the most rewarding aspect of being a psychologist is having the opportunity to hear and understand people’s stories and background. 

I have experience in variety of settings, including private practice, hospitals, correctional centres and occupational rehabilitation. I have worked as a psychologist in the following areas: chronic pain, adjustment to illness counselling, anxiety and depression. I receive senior supervision by a clinical and health psychologist to obtain a speciality in health psychology.  

Areas of Practice

I work with adults with common presentations such as depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment, grief and loss (please note: I currently do not specialise in personality disorders). In addition, I focus on the following challenges:

Eating and weight concerns

  • I have a special interest in weight loss management. I am able to support people before and after bariatric surgery. I believe psychology plays an important part in changing your eating, movement and weight. I also have a growing interest in overeating and bingeing, emotional eating and body image concerns.


Individuals needing to make important lifestyle changes for their health 

  • As a psychologist with a background in health psychology, I apply the principles of behaviour change, changing habits and developing motivation to help you change unhelpful health habits. This may include making changes to your diet, participating in enjoyable movement/exercise, cutting back on your drinking and much more.


Adjustment to significant health issues (such as cancer, chronic pain, physical injuries) 

  • Coping with a chronic health issue can be a major life stress. I believe understanding and addressing the physical, emotional and behavioural factors can help you cope and live a more satisfying, fullfilling life beyond illness and injury.

Therapeutic Approaches I Use


​My aim is to tailor your treatment according to your goals. To achieve this, I work from a positive, strengths based approach so you are able to achieve long term changes, even after psychological therapy is complete. Therapy approaches that I commonly use include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT-E), Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I also have a growing interest in non-dieting approaches, such as intuitive eating principles and incorporating a health at every size approach.
